Other Villas-Boas Chelsea manager has praised striker Fernando Torres for his impressive performance against Genk which saw the Spaniard net a double on his return to the page.

"[Torres] wanted to play," said Villas-Boas told Sky Sports. "It was important for him to play for the national team in Germany and have maintained their shape and their position in positive."

Villas-Boas was pleased with how his team managed the game and believes that Torres has experienced a revival of confidence.

"I think it was an excellent show by the team," said Villas-Boas. "It is very important when playing a game of this size. She kept the pace high. In the second half they wanted to keep up, but I think from time to time they lost a few passes.

The Portuguese coach also praised the energy and pace of his team, who rushed four goals at half time.

"We have increased the pace in the last twenty minutes, but could not find the back of the net. But it was a good result and puts us in a comfortable position. If you get ten points would be excellent."

An eight-minute goal by Raul Meireles set of Chelsea and Torres added soon.

"We felt confident from the start. They were all focused and motivated. The objective of the first 15 minutes gave us stability, "said Villas-Boas." I think Itas Donat on individual goals, but the collective goal. "
